Calendar

This is the combined Calendar of Services and Festal Calendar. If you’d like to just see our schedule of services or the saint of the day, select your preference from the upper right “Calendars” or “☰” button.

Our Cycle of Services

If you’re new to Orthodoxy and have no idea what any of the below services terms mean, we recommend showing up a little before 10 AM. There is plenty of parking around the Second Stage Arts & Community Center. As an added bonus Baine’s Coffee opens at 11 AM and many parishioners will head over there after services to get their morning caffeine.

On Sundays, we offer these prayer services:

  • 10:00 to 10:30 - Third & Sixth Hour

  • 10:30 to Noon: Divine Liturgy

  • Confession is available upon request

Christ the Saviour Orthodox Mission offers services every Sunday and major Feast Days of the year. Please see our Calendar above for the most up-to-date schedule information or contact us with your questions.

What to expect

“Things I Wished I’d Known”

by Kh. Frederica Mathewes-Green

Welcome To The Orthodox Church!

There are a number of things about our worship that are different from the services of other churches, whether Roman Catholic, liturgical Protestant, or evangelical. In an effort to help alleviate confusion, here are twelve things I wish someone had explained to me before the first time I visited an Orthodox Church.

Orthodox Etiquette

We kindly ask all who enter the church to observe the following out of reverence for the holy space and the sacredness of our worship:

We recommend:

  • Modest, respectful clothing suitable for standing before the King of Kings

  • Long-sleeve, collared or formal shirts for men

  • Long dresses or skirts for women, which are traditional in Orthodox settings

  • Dress shoes or other formal footwear for all (no flip-flops or bare feet)

  • If pants are worn by women, they should be of a dress or business casual style

  • If leggings or tights are worn, they should be under a skirt or dress

  • For women, head coverings are encouraged, though not required

Please refrain from wearing:

  • Shorts, mini-skirts, tight-fitting skirts or dresses

  • Leggings worn as pants

  • Bare shoulders or low-cut tops

  • Sleeveless or strap-only dresses

  • Clothing with bare midriffs or open backs

  • T-shirts, tank tops, or casual sportswear including sweats

  • Shorts, cargo shorts, or the like
